2018 Valuation competition design of medical devices conference contractura lumbar

This competition is a way for researchers and inventors to get immediate feedback about their projects from leaders in medical technology research, engineering & development. The top three presenters will be awarded a full valuation from the UMN’s Medical Industry Valuation Laboratory, ( regular fee for this service is $15,000). More information on the Medical Industry Valuation Laboratory hernia discal lumbar tratamiento and the service can be found here.

Dr. Sudesh Sivarasu received his Ph.D degree from VIT, India , in 2009. He is currently an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering in the department of human biology of health sciences faculty of University of Cape Town(UCT), South Africa. His research focuses on creating affordable health technologies and has over 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 19 patent family applications and over 8 granted patents to his hernia lumbar cie 10 credit.

Dr. Sivarasu, Heads the Medical Devices hernia de disco lumbar ejercicios laboratory at UCT. He has received several national and international awards for his innovative works on medical technologies. Dr. Sudesh Sivarasu is also known for developing the concept of ‘Frugal Bio-design’.

David Nelson is Professor and Chair of Mechanical Engineering, University of South Alabama. and President of Millitherm, Inc. He previously served on the faculty of Michigan Technological University, where he founded the Department of Biomedical Engineering. He received the MS degree (biomedical engineering) from The Ohio State University and PhD (mechanical engineering) from Duke University.

Aimee Tomlinson graduated from Lawrence Technological University in May 2017 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. She is currently a PhD student at Michigan State University studying Kinesiology, with dolor sacro lumbar causas a concentration in cognitive and motor neuroscience. Her current research interests are related to developing technologies for stroke rehabilitation that are affordable, usable, and effective.

Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, in 1997. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science. His R & D activities are focused on neural rehabilitation in stroke survivors and people with Parkinson’s disease hernia discal lumbar cie 10. He has more than 60 peer-reviewed journal publications and a US patent.

Erik Zavrel is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University. His research focuses on the development of novel escoliosis lumbar izquierda tratamiento non-pharmacological device-based interventions for sleep disorders. He conducts clinical trials at Weill Cornell’s Center for Sleep Medicine in New York City.

CPR feedback devices aid rescuers in monitoring chest compression performance on a patient that has experienced cardiac arrest. This is particularly useful to ensure that oxygenated blood is being circulated through the body, and to detect rescuer fatigue. Unfortunately, many emergency medical groups choose not to use these devices due to usability issues such as rescuer discomfort. The proposed device is comfortable and intuitive to use, with a CPR compression evaluation and counting module that escoliosis toracolumbar is easy to read.

Exposure to allergens found in certain foods, medications and insect bites can result severe allergic reactions termed anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is characterised by sudden onset of dysfunction in multiple systems, and may include difficulty breathing, swelling of the airways, shock and loss of consciousness. If not treated immediately, it can be fatal. The only existing treatment is for the patient to self-administer a dose of adrenaline via que es rotoescoliosis lumbar an auto-injector. However, the adrenaline within the device expires every year meaning that the entire device must be replaced. This makes existing technologies too expensive for many patients to afford. To combat these problems, we have developed a reloadable adrenaline auto-injector ‘Zibi-Pen’. ‘Zibi-Pen’ allows the patients to simply reload the cartridge once the adrenaline expires, as opposed to replacing the entire device. In addition, ‘Zibi-Pen’ allows customization of dose and needle injection preparacion para radiografia de columna lumbosacra sanitas depth to optimise drug delivery for patients of varying body types.

Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) is an occlusive disease that affects 8 – 12 million people and indicates risk of serious cardiovascular disease, morbidity and mortality. Early PAD detection followed by intervention improves patient outcomes dieta blanda para radiografia de columna lumbosacra. This work presents a device for fast, simple PAD screening. The device uses a low-power, radio frequency source and simultaneous surface temperature sensing to detect low blood flow in the skin. Preliminary in vitro and in vivo results indicate feasibility for fast, easy non-contact PAD screening.

Gait impairment is common in people suffering from escoliosis lumbar tratamiento neurological disorders and in elderly population. Currently partial body weight-supported treadmill training and robot-assisted step training are facing a dilemma as revealed in the results of recent randomized clinical trials. We redefined an alternative set of task specificity of gait training and developed a novel device that reduced the controlled number of degree of freedom from 9 to 2 in gait training. The novel device is significant dieta para radiografia de columna lumbosacra light, cheap, and functionally better.

Tongue protrusive strength while awake has been found to be predictive of airway patency during sleep. Additionally, a number of studies have demonstrated that strengthening the genioglossus via oral exercises, playing of a wind instrument, or hypoglossal nerve stimulation, can substantially reduce Obstructive Sleep Apnea severity. What has been heretofore absent is a device that can target the genioglossus specifically escoliosis lumbar derecha, is intuitive to use, and can quantitatively track changes in muscle strength and fatigability over time. We have developed embedded and gamified PC versions of an electromechanical, biofeedback genioglossal strengthening device – which we have dubbed the “Tongue Trainer” – that is easy to use and collects, stores, and analyzes genioglossal strength and fatigability data.
